CASE STUDY: Tourism Board

VIDEO MARKETING STRATEGY / CONTENT PRODUCTION

Project Overview 

We were engaged by ‘Visit Herts’ the tourism board for Hertfordshire, UK, to produce a destination promotion film, showing that Hertfordshire is the the UK's answer to Hollywood and the home of TV & Film production in the UK. This project was part of the ‘HERTS CAMERA ACTION’ programme, which is backed by The UK Government, University of Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire Growth Hub and Visit Herts. HERTS CAMERA ACTION!

Located in the south of England, Hertfordshire offers a cluster of film studios including Leavesden, Elstree, Sky, and the recently confirmed largest studio in the UK, Hollywood’s Sunset Studios Waltham Cross. Filled with a range of locations suitable for all production types, small or large, budget or blockbuster, our network of film friendly location partners can provide the perfect backdrop to your next production, be it rural villages, historic houses, Regency ballrooms, open spaces or ancient woodlands.

Our Solution

We used a combination of newly shot content and some existing footage from Visit Herts’ partners, to produce a destination promotional film, which was distributed to Film & TV production companies worldwide. We also provided a variety of social media versions of the film, in different lengths and aspect ratios. The locations featured included:

Core Assets & Deliverables

The client received the following video assets:

  • 1x Cinematic Destination Promotional Film, 90 secs, 4K, 16:9

  • 1x Social Media Film, 60 secs, 1:1 & 9x16

  • 1x Social Media Video, 15 secs, 9:16

  • We also managed the coordination with all of the locations, organised the shoot days and followed up once the video had been distributed.

Results & ROI 

The project started distribution in early November 2022 and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Partners featured in the film have commented on how impressive and professionally produced the film is. Typically we would charge a fee of between £12k - £20k for this project, depending on the number of locations which are featured, as this affects number of shoot days on location which are required.
